By William Legault

The Salem20160509_184349(1) Licensing Board met last night at 120 Washington Street in the third floor conference room. Member Paul Flores and Rick Lee were presiding along with Sgt. Gaudet of the Salem Police Department and Melissa Pagliaro the Clerk of the Board

After issuing a few street performer and psychic reader licenses they moved on to other agenda items.

Far From The Tree Cider and the 1634 Meadery were given approval for Farmer Brewer Pouring Licenses for use during the upcoming season of the Salem Farmers Market. This allows both businesses to pour samples while selling their products at the market.  An “alteration of Premise” was also authorized  that will allow tables and chairs, and a wall with landscaping to be added to their front patio.

The board approved an application for The Lobster Shanty to add a juke box to their current entertainment license and also added an automatic amusement clause which allows a unit that accepts either cash or credit cards for each play.  They also updated the board on the status of their current “alteration of premise” which involves a new patio and doorway.20160509_185156

A transfer of license was approved for Car Five Motors, LLC at 296 Jefferson Avenue.

There was a discussion concerning outside speakers playing music at Rockafella’s. Sgt. Gaudet will investigate the matter.

A hearing with Notch Brewing was continued.
